From Harlem! Yes, August 16th at about 7:03 we landed in Charlotte and caught a bus back home. Most of us were safe in bed by 11:30 p.m. It was good to get home. Our Scotland adventure was wonderful. We met new people, saw great shows, and visited some marvelous sites; and now we're home to share our stories with the people that mean the most to us. Thank you to everyone who helped us and supported us on this trek. One small step for Drama, one large step for Harlem!
HELLO!
From the damp, cool climate of Scotland. Yesterday (the 13th) and today (the 14th) were wonderful days. After days, and days of rain and cold we were finally giving two days of sun and peace. Yesterday we went our our bus tour of Scotland -up to Stirling Castle, the Trossachs and down again. Today we had our last show on the International stage. It was a huge hit!! We all had a blast and the energy really showed through. Although we love this country, all of us are ready to be home and share our accounts with all our loved ones. See you on Monday!!!
HELLO!
Yep, you guessed it...Scotland! It's currently August 11th. Our first show was Monday night and we all had a pretty good run through. The stage was HOT and cramped but we were doing theatre and the theatre is our life. We've all seen a lot of really good show. Some of us went to Tom Stoppard's new show and had a blast! Yesterday was our second show and it was really our best yet. The kids are having so much fun. A group went to Edinburgh Castle yesterday and had a good time sight seeing- even if it has been raining almost constantly! Today we have a rest day, and tomorrow is another show!
HELLO!
Still from the Fringe Festival!
We have our first show today and the kids are getting really excited. We were supposed to take a run up to Edinburgh Castle this morning but it's a little wet and rainy so it was decided to let everyone rest before their big day. Some of the group climbed Arthur's Seat yesterday morning, going over 800 feet in the pre-dawn mistiness. It was an amazing adventure that none of them will forget. Wish us luck
HELLO!
From Edinburgh!!!
Yes, we've finally made it. It's August 7th here and after 3 hectic (but wonderful) days in London we took a lovely train ride up the coast to this beautiful city. It was a breath of fresh air getting off the train. Everything here is so green and peaceful. Tomorrow a group of us are going to climb Arthur's Seat (a local mini Mountain) and watch the sun rise over the North Sea. Our first shows are soon...but so far the Fringe has been most excellent! We love you all!!!
HELLO!
From London!
Harlem High Drama is currently in London (August 4th). It's about 6:44 a.m. and I had to sneak down to use this computer. Paying TWO POUNDS! Arg! That's about 4 bucks US side. The flight over wasn't bad. It wasn't wonderful because of a little Hurricane type deal off the coast, but all in all it wasn't bad. The flight, all 7 hours of it, was at night and yesterday morning we hit the ground running. Most of us had had little sleep since Sunday night but all of us were excited. We saw Buckingham Palace, Big Ben (a bell, not a clock!), The River Thames, London Bridge, Parliment, and much much more. Today we're off to the Tower of London and then "Anything Goes" tonight! Everyone is doing well, and Harlem sends it's love to all our loyal supporters back over the pond! See you the 16th!!!

A Long time benefactor of Harlem High Drama who was the voice of WGAC radio and a legend on the stage for many local thespians. He graciously donated hundreds of scripts to the HHS Drama department. Matt was devoted to supporting theater and we are mournful of his passing. As a way of saying thank you to his family the HHS Drama department took up a collection to offset the cost of his hospitalization. The memory and legacy of Joseph Matthew Stovall with live always in our hearts.
